Richard Carrier is a skeptic, historian, and philosopher (and previous editor-in-chief of the secular web - see some of his works here), who will be speaking at MSU this upcoming semester along with PZ Myers and possibly Phil Plait and Steve Novella, probably on the weekend of October 10-12. As is his usual style, he has just posted a very thorough assessment of John McCain and his candidacy that is very much worth the read.
